Welcome to St. Andrew's, a vibrant Episcopal church in west McKinney. Our vision is to proclaim "a faith for all ages" - in our words and deeds we communicate the timeless Gospel message. At St. Andrew's, there is "no experience necessary!" If you've never been to an Episcopal service before, don't let that stop you from paying us a visit. There are pages on this website to help you learn about what we do, and we print everything you need to follow our service in our bulletin. If you are a long-time Episcopalian, you'll find our approach to worship reverent, precise and timely. You'll find people of all backgrounds and ages worshiping, serving, and growing in their relationship with Jesus. Lively preaching, sacramental worship and community service make St. Andrew's a special place. We hope you'll join us! |

As our children are returning to the classroom, so are we! On September 12 we resume Discipleship Hour classes. Classes are held from 9 to 9:50am on Sunday mornings with worship beginning at 10:15. Here is our line-up for the Fall!
FaithWeaver Our preschool and primary aged children will be using Group’s FaithWeaver curriculum. This study, popular with both teachers and children, focuses on the stories of the Old and New Testament. Over three years our children cover most of the Bible. Preschool class (3yrs—Kindergarten) will be located in the Nursery Primary class (1st—5th grades) will be located in the Aerobics Room
LinC Our youth will be using LinC (Living in Christ) curriculum. This study uses current issues, music, movies and other contemporary topics to challenge our youth to think about their faith and beliefs, helping them to form their Christian identity. Youth class (6th—12th grades) will be located in the Yoga Room
The Blessing of a Skinned Knee The Adults will be studying The Blessing of a Skinned Knee by Wendy Mogel. We will discuss raising self-reliant children – the benefits of responsibility, learning from failures, respecting parents, and cultivating gratitude to name a few. While this class will be of great interest to those of us with children in the home, it will also be relevant to those with grown children or grandchildren. No matter what state of parenting you are in, we hope that you will join us and lend your hard-won wisdom to our discussion. Adult class will be located in the Spinning Room Nursery available for children up to 3 years |

Get an inspirational message and Scripture a day from Father Mike’s Twitter page, www.twitter.com/revmichie. Join St. Andrew’s Facebook group! Ready to grow in faith, prayer and an understanding of God’s word? I have begun a new initiative for St. Andrew's and my own teaching ministry, The Daily Office Daily. The Daily Office Daily started on November 29th, I send out a daily devotional guide to the Episcopal Daily Office Lectionary. These e-mails put the readers on a daily rhythm of reading from the Old and New Testaments, the Psalms and the Gospels. What's more, I provide a format by which you'll be able to share your prayer requests with the larger "Daily Office Daily" community. Some of you will be more familiar with the Daily Office than others. The Daily Office is comprised of morning and evening prayer services to help you through the day. The "Daily Office Daily" e-mails will provide you links to online versions of Morning and Evening Prayer services, where you can click links that direct you to the appropriate readings and prayers. I also provide links for the assigned Scripture readings for the day, along with a brief commentary on one of the readings. As a bonus, there is a section where you can pray for other's concerns that have been submitted, along to a link for a "song of the day". Many people I meet want to pray and read the Bible more. The Daily Office Daily is something that will help you do both! The Lord has asked me to offer this service not just to St. Andrew's, but to the larger church. Feel free, then, to forward your friends this e-mail and get them signed up. This is, of course, free. St. Andrew's members will look forward to having small groups started around the readings, where you'll have an "accountability group" that will keep you encouraged in your reading through the year, and go more in depth on a passage each week. Why November 29th? It is the beginning of the church year, the first Sunday of Advent. We'll go through all of the seasons of the church year together, and when we are done, we'll have read a great portion of the entire Bible. I will, of course, keep writing my weekly knee-mails, and will send these Daily Office Daily e-mails only to those who sign up. This will work together with my twice-daily Twitter feed, where I send out a thought, prayer or quote to help you through the day. To sign up for the Daily Office Daily, E-mail
