Women's Retreat — March 2-4
Escape the beautiful messiness of everyday life at Camp All Saints where we will connect with God and our sisters in Christ for a refreshing, Christ-centered getaway.  To register, grab a form from the "upcoming events" bulletin board or contact the church office for an emailed copy.

Women's Friendship Circle — February 26
Join us this month at St. Andrew's for a Taize Service. We will start at 7 p.m. and supper will be provided. RSVP by contacting the church office.
 

Bagels for Burks — Feb. 23, 7:15 p.m
Want to treat the Burks teachers to bagels and coffee? If you are looking for a quick and easy way to serve at Burks, our Title 1 partner elementary school, consider picking up our pre-paid order of bagels and coffee at Einstein's and deliver it to Burks! For more information, contact the church office.


St. Andrew's Golf Tournament

Can you help plan this year's Golf Tournament? The committee will hold its initial meeting Saturday, Feb. 24, at 10 a.m. We will meet on the 2nd floor of Market Street at Ridge & Eldorado. If you have questions or cannot make the meeting but would like to help, contact the church office.

It's meatloaf and baked chicken at Merritt this month! Want to provide a dish or come with us to serve? Contact the church office for more information and a link to sign up.

 
Join us for a fun evening as we prepare to celebrate Easter. We will "Walk with Jesus" through stations to help our children (and adults!) understand the story of Palm Sunday, the Last Supper, Good Friday, and the Easter Story. We hope you can join us Friday, March 23, with journeys at 6, 6:30 and 7 p.m. Please contact the church office for more information and if you would be willing to volunteer.

SAY (St. lAndrew's Youth
After a triumphant showing at the SAY Olympics, we are back to regular time this week! MS from 4-5 p.m., HS from 5:30-6:40 p.m., and a community meal at 5 p.m. If you can help provide a meal, contact the church office.

 

First Communion class — BEGINS TODAY, Feb. 18
Children 1st grade and up are invited to join us for a first informed communion class during the 11 a.m. service in Lent.
Your child will learn about what we do during the Eucharist and why, followed by a ceremony to receive the Eucharist on Easter Sunday. Contact the church office to sign up.

This nine-session Financial Peace University course, taught by Dave Ramsey, returns to St. Andrew's on Thursday, January 18, in the Adult Classroom. Each session presents video teaching and class discussions on steps to get your personal finances where you've dreamed of. Classes meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. through March 22. Contact the church office for more information. The course is open to all members of the community. Child care is available upon request.

 

Lenten Dinner and Discipleship — Begins Feb. 21
Our Dinner and Discipleship series returns on February 21. This week, in addition to a delicious dinner, we'll have some wonderful community leaders come share with us how their faith impacted their work in the world. Contact the church office if you can help with the food.

 

Lent Drive: Diapers, Wipes & Feminine Hygiene Products Feb. 18 - March 15
Bring in new packs of diapers (all sizes), baby wipes,and feminine products (all types) during Lent and drop them in the Hands & Feet bins in the hospitality hall.

 

Lenten Daily Devotional — Starts Tomorrow, Feb. 18
We have a great daily devotional series planned for Lent, based around video reflections from your fellow St. Andrew's members. We'll post these on our Facebook page each day, but you can also receive them by email. Contact the church office to receive the emails

 

Lenten Evening Prayer
Make time for mid-week worship with Evening Prayer during the season of Lent at at 6 p.m. every Wednesday beginning Feb. 21. This quiet, contemplative midweek service will enhance your spiritual practice during this penitential holly season. Childcare is available.

 

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Adult Confirmation Preparation
For adults interested in the sacrament of Confirmation, a preparation class is forming soon. The Exploring Episcopal Worship series (see above) is required. The preparation sessions are in addition to that class. Schedule will be determined with input from those interested. Please contact the church office and we'll follow up.

 

St. Andrew's Adult Supper Groups
The spring 2018 supper groups are being formed to begin in February.
All adults are welcome. Participants are placed in small groups of 6-8 and gather once a month to share a meal. If you are interested in being in a group this spring, please contact St. Andrew's office or contact Judy Heasley .

 

Sermon Series Postponed
The promised, "What the Hell" sermon series on hell and how Christians can think and talk about it has been postponed until after Easter.

 

Dollar Makes a Difference
"Dollar Makes a Difference" fund provides our clergy with much needed funds to provide assistance at their discretion to member of our church and the community who are in crisis. You can write a check with "Dollar Makes a Difference" on your check and send it to St. Andrew's (6400 McKinney Ranch Rd., McKinney, TX 75070) or give online.
