The Reverend Andrew Van Kirk



The Rev. Andrew Van Kirk joined the staff as the Associate Rector in the fall of 2013. He was named Priest-in-Charge in August 2017, and instituted as St. Andrew's second Rector in February 2019.

Prior to coming to St. Andrew’s, Andrew served as the Associate Rector at the Episcopal Church of the Ascension in Dallas. Father Andrew grew up in Dallas before attending Duke University (B.A. History and Computer Science) and Princeton Theological Seminary (MDiv, ThM – New Testament). In between institutions of higher education, he briefly wrote software for Amazon.com.

He and his wife Stephanie, who also has an MDiv from Princeton Theological Seminary, have three children, Henry, Addie and Drew.

The Rev. Paulette Magnuson

Priest Associate


Mother Paulette recently retired as Vicar of St. Martins Episcopal Church in Copperas Cove, Texas, where she served for seven years in a predominately military community. After retirement in 2017 she did supply work in small churches scattered across the Diocese of Texas and served as Associate Priest at Grace Episcopal in Georgetown, Texas. For the past two years she also served as Fieldwork Supervisor for senior priest students at The Iona School for Ministry. She and her husband Larry, a retired physician, lived in Georgetown for 25 years before moving to McKinney in May.

Mother Paulette graduated and was ordained out of the Iona School for Ministry in the Diocese of Texas.  She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching Writing and Literature from George Mason University in Fairfax, VA, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from Marymount University in Arlington, VA.  She and Larry spent their career years working for the U.S. Foreign Service in Tanzania, Germany, Washington, D.C., and Russia. They have five children, ten grandchildren, and a great-grandson, Cole, who lives in McKinney.

Both Mother Paulette and Larry are so happy to be joining the congregation at St. Andrews, and are so very grateful for the warm reception they have been given.

Tim Jenkins

Digital Media Minister


Tim entered full-time vocationally ministry in 2006 as an Associate Minister over youth and family at Cornerstone Christian Church in Farmer's Branch. He has also served as the Director of Youth Ministry at First United Methodist Rowlett and served nearly two years as a missionary in San Raymundo, Guatemala with the New Iberian Mission Association. Tim and his wife also serve as the leaders of the Praise Band for the Contemporary service at St. Andrew's.

Tim has a B.A. in Biblical Studies and Preaching from Dallas Christian College and a partially completed M.A. in New Testament and Preaching from Johnson University. He was ordained in the Independent Christian Church at Northside Christian Church in Spring, TX.

Brennan Newell

Outreach Director


Brennan serves as Outreach Director. She is an alumni of UNC Chapel Hill and graduate of Kennesaw State University with a BA in International Affairs. Brennan has spent most of her career in nonprofit volunteer management and fundraising, most recently at The Samaritan Inn, Community Lifeline Center and Shiloh Place, and her corporate experience is in marketing and community relations. Brennan is married with two teenagers and enjoys volunteering with the SPCA Equine program, hiking and attending way too many Jimmy Buffett concerts. She leads our community outreach efforts, joyfully and prayerfully uniting our volunteers with deserving nonprofits in need.

Jer Gregory

Youth Minister


Jer Gregory was born and raised in Austin, Texas. In 1997, he moved to Dallas to attend Criswell College, a Baptist Bible school, completing a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies (Magnum cum Laude) in 2002 and a Master of Arts in Philosophical Theology (Summa cum Laude) in 2004. Also, in 2004, he married Sarah Londis and started teaching Bible and Worldviews at Carrollton Christian Academy. During his time at CCA, he became Head of the Bible Department, High School Chaplain, and National Honor Society Adviser.  While he taught high school, he started, but did not complete, a Ph.D. in Humanities: History of Ideas at The University of Texas at Dallas.

He taught several Bible courses at CCA, including Religious Worldviews, Philosophical Worldviews, Ethics and Aesthetics, Apologetics, Christian Doctrine, New and Old Testament Survey, Literary Criticism: Epic Genre, and Worldviews & Film.  He has a Professional Lifetime Bible Specialist license from the Association of Christian Schools International, High School Teacher of the Year at Carrollton Christian Academy (2007-2008 and 2011-2012), Certificate of Recognition for Work with Students from Southern Methodist University (2005-2006), and multiple nominations from Who’s Who Among America’s Teachers. In 2018, CCA closed. For one year he served in his community, Redemption Church, working with student ministry and men’s ministry.  In 2019, Trinity Christian Academy hired him to teach Senior Bible. Jeremy and Sarah have three children Sam (14), Sophia (12), Ellie (10), and our dog Zoe. They live in Frisco.

Stephanie Van Kirk

Children and Family Minister


Stephanie heads up our Children and Family Ministry program. She's a graduate of Princeton Theological Seminary, where she completed a Masters of Divinity with a focus in Christian Education. She's also served as a children's minister and as a youth minister at Ascension in Dallas. Stephanie will be responsible for overseeing Sunday morning and all the volunteers, the nursery workers, Safe Church training, and pastoral care with kids and parents. Beyond that, she's going to work on expanding our children's program to include more outreach opportunities, full-family experiences, play dates, and seasonal classes and curriculum.

Tim & Stephanie Jenkins

Contemporary Music Leaders


Tim and Stephanie Jenkins have been leading music at St. Andrew's since 2016, when they became the music leaders for the Westridge satellite service, which ran until August of 2017. In January 2018, they became the music leaders for the contemporary service at St. Andrew's.

Tim and Stephanie both graduated from Dallas Christian College with Bachelor of Arts degrees, and they have lead worship together and individually at camps, youth groups, vacation bible schools, worship services, and more since 2002.

Stephanie is a private voice and piano teacher, and she has taught music, choreography, and theater in both private schools and studios throughout DFW.
